The paintings were made by: pupils from the elementary schools Elsa Triolet and Soupetard; students from the Clémence Isaure and Georges Sand and Louis-Nicolas Vauquelin colleges; 1st and 2nd year students from the DN MADE Espace et Innovation Sociale at Lycée Rive Gauche; students from the Aimée-Stitelmann School of Commerce and General Culture in Geneva; students from the art workshops at the Henri-Desbals and Alban Minville cultural centers; students from the public courses at isdaT; young girls from the association Voir et Comprendre; and individual audiences mobilized during video workshop meetings.
Serge Boulaz is a story maker and story teller, nourished by a thousand experiences, a thousand encounters, a thousand lives. A lover of all things, a specialist in nothing at all, the man seems to resist any typology and appears to us simply as a kind of humanist poet, a little offbeat, but always driven by a deep desire: to make ordinary life an adventure populated by extraordinary people. Because he could not waste such an invitation, if not "bestial", rejoicing, yesterday still a shoeshine man in Mexico, he is today a teacher and artist in Geneva and in Occitan lands; what about tomorrow... ?
For Le Printemps de septembre, the artist imagines a participative project for the left bank of Toulouse. Attention, n'oubliez personne ! (Beware, don't forget anyone!) offers participants the opportunity to be exhibited during the festival. The project is divided into three phases: a time for collecting photos taken with smartphones, a time for reinterpreting these photos in paintings by pupils, students, amateurs and artists, and a time for restitution through two exhibitions, at the Château d'Eau and the Centre culturel Henri-Desbals, where all the paintings produced will be presented. A joint jury made up of people involved in the project will select sixty paintings which will be displayed on the platforms of line A of the metro from Saint-Cyprien to Basso Cambo stations, on the Pont-Neuf and in the shops of the left bank.
The project was carried out in partnership with the socio-cultural activities direction of the City of Toulouse and Tisséo, with the support of the Départment de la Haute-Garonne, the Drac Occitanie, the Fondation d’entreprise Banque Populaire Occitane and the City of Geneva.
