In 2004, le Printemps de septembre festival invited Franck Scurti to invest the urban space. From this invitation emerged a set of eight illuminated signs, now in the collection of les Abattoirs, Musée – Frac Occitanie Toulouse. Five of them will return to the city's facades.

"Les Reflets" (Reflectionsare representations of illuminated signs. I called them that because they are slightly deformed, a bit like when you see a shape in a puddle, but here this perspective is frozen, solidified. I have created a distortion between the object and its representation, to try to bring out the duality of the dream and the real. To do this, I use standard shapes: the carrot for the tobacco, the glasses for the optician. These are familiar signs, which everyone knows and which allow us to understand that this is a message about the material world of today. [...] Reflection often have a modifying and poetic function on the linguistics of the facades that house them. Indeed, incorporating commercial symbols into the visual code of a building that has none is a dreamlike (and cruel) way of to comment on our use of urban space." – Franck Scurti, 2004
