Marion Tampon-Lajarriette

Born in 1982 in Paris, she lives between Geneva and Paris.

A young artist who graduated from the Villa Arson in Nice in 2005, Marion Tampon Lajarriette continues the way in which contemporary art has inserted itself into the cinema in order to extract, in particular, psychic states. Working from photograms or filmic sequences borrowed from Hitchcock, Godard, Bertolucci or Philippe Garrel, she combines remakes with recent developments in new media and an interactive practice of the image, questioning the place of the spectator.

What films are you presenting at the Sollertis gallery?

With Camera 1, shot 8, we walk above the moving surface of a synthetic ocean. The movement reproduced on this surface is that of the camera's field of vision in a scene from another Hitchock film, The Rope. 

The Visisonneuse is an interactive lens, halfway between a camera and a film. Without the action of the viewer, it is a simple photographic view that is presented to us. By operating the joystick, the viewer animates a filmed view by directing a tracking shot in this or that direction while adjusting the degree of sharpness of the landscape. The formerly passive viewer of the cinema finds himself in the position of observer, player and cameraman.
