DJ Aï

English musician and writer Robin Rimbaud got his pseudonym Scanner from his unusual practice of hacking telephone conversations. These "stolen" conversations are part of the raw material he uses in his electronic music collages. Scanner has worked with artists as diverse as Laurie Anderson, DJ Spooky, Bryan Ferry, Brian Eno and Charlemagne Palestine. Karlheinz Stockhausen said of him, "He is very experimental because he searches in a range of sounds that is not usually used for music ... he has a good sense of atmosphere."
