Born in 1959, she lives and works in Los Angeles.

An immediate extension of her photomontages and paintings, Marnie Weber's filmography is a world in itself made up of fairies and strange apparitions, stuffed animals and chimerical animal dolls that transform the mythological American landscape into a childlike and surreal universe. His short films are so many crossings, small adventures regulated by haunting music, repetitive, and each time structured in a narrative way around a prologue and an unexpected denouement. Throughout her films, Marnie Weber replaces the archetypal iconography of Walt Disney and American training stories with a universe troubled by hybrid bodies and figures, by the strangeness of nature. Here, the emergence of sexuality, the image of feminine beauty as well as that of ugliness or cruelty are among the founding elements of this unique work.
