Night projections — Hôtel-Dieu
He lives and works in Paris.
Opposite the Hôtel Dieu building, the Garonne flows. Taking into account the contrast between the immobility of the building and the fluidity of the river's waters, Ange Leccia proposes to project giant still images onto the 130-metre façade of the Hôtel Dieu, one after the other, in such a way as to evoke the unfolding of a narrative. During several trips to the Middle East, the artist brought back images of arid mountain landscapes, sandy deserts and military scenes that he used to construct his scenario, alternating with images of female faces whose beauty seems to make us forget the presence of this warlike society.
