Born in 1971, he lives and works in Grenoble (France).

Samuel Rousseau designs playful and poetic devices based on everyday objects and video, the basis of which is often a play on words ("Tu chantes comme une casserole" where the cookware actually starts to sing) or on disruptions of scale (a miniature character drowns in a bathtub or tries to climb a staircase step...).

Three works by Samuel Rousseau are presented in the streets of Cahors: a gargling manhole, a bird-man perched in a tree, and a traffic light diverted from its original function.
