Born in 1963, he lives and works in Paris.

Philippe Durand pursues a photographic work that maintains an ever-renewed relationship with the object, defining a specific medium for each of his series (puzzles, plates, stickers, posters, etc.). He is interested in the systems of linguistic and pictorial signs that arise from reality and its media representation, and takes an amused look at the codes and attitudes of the contemporary world. In parallel with the exhibition of photographs from his series Les Années nonante in Cahors, Philippe Durand has been invited to produce a specific work for the Dêpèche du Midi, as well as a work in the public space.
