© Mac Adams

Born in 1943, he lives and works in New York.

Mac Adams' photographs are often questions about their own capacity to convey information. His scenes of domestic or urban life, or his still lifes, include fragmentary and mediated elements of news. The Postmodern Tragedies series, for example, shows everyday objects on whose surface a crime scene or violent assault is reflected. In his recent series Empty Space (1997), still lifes reveal an animal image through their shadow. Mac Adams introduces disorder into the surface of things.
