Kendell Geers

Born in 1968, he lives and works in Johannesburg.

Artist, art critic and exhibition organiser, Kendell geers displays an iconoclastic and radical attitude towards the "society of the spectacle", whose conservatism and taboos he combats, and whose violence he expresses, particularly in the South African context, through installations and audiovisual devices.

His recent video works, less linked to the political events of his country, consist of important installations reusing Hollywood films to extract litanic "mixes". In Cahors he presents an installation entitled TW (Shoot) as well as a work in the cloister.
