Born in 1966, he lives and works in Paris.
A reflection on physical phenomena and the constitution of forms led Bertrand Lamarche to take an interest in vortexes, turbulence and whirlpools, which he endeavours to reproduce in a domestic manner with poor or familiar materials (water, a disk player, etc.) and from which he makes videos or installations, where DIY combines with the precision of the scientist-artist.
In Cahors, he presents his installation Tore (1997) which, with a simple light refraction device, generates a sort of sinusoidal wave projected on the wall of the room.
