Aernout Mik, 3 laughing and 4 crying, 1998
installation vidéo et couleur, muet, 60' (caméra marjolaine boonstra)
© Arnout Mike
Born in 1962, he lives and works in Amsterdam.
The artist, presented at the 47th Venice Biennale, creates video installations that stage inter-human relationships mixed with sculptural creations relating to the body. Certain strange activities are repeated over and over again as if daily life were driven by unknown rules.
In Cahors, he shows his piece Three Laughing and Four Crying (1998), an installation in which the viewer is invited to sit down and measure himself against the filmed scene.
